Recently, I have moved from oils back to waterbased media, such as gouache and watercolour due to enduring repeated lung collapses over 2019-2020. In August 2020, (just prior to Spontaneous Pneumothorax No. 3), I began to notice that I often felt worse after working in oil and remain unsure if Cobalt and Cadmium pigments are impacting my respiratory system. This means that I have a new found love of pencil drawings and watercolour especially. I love the versatility, portability and environmentally friendly aspects which oils and other media just can't hold a light to. Apologies for not having spent much time updating this site throughout 2020, (due to my hospital stints). I hope to post more images soon! Always grateful for feedback.

The above (unfinished) little tree studies were my last oils. My oilpaints are now packed up and sit outside among the elements. Unfortunately, even just the smell of oils is enough to make me anxious these days..(!)
